Christmas has come and gone once again and now it is time to start looking into cleaning up, putting away ornaments and other decorations, giving the house a good cleaning after having all those guests over for your Christmas Dinner, etc.

Here are a few tips to help get your home back in shape in time for the new year.

Be Careful when Stripping the Christmas Tree

Use as much care as possible when you take down your tree just as when you put it up as it will save a lot of headaches when setting it back up next year.

Use empty tubes you may have laying around from the gift wrapping paper to roll up your Christmas lights to help avoid having a huge tangled mess next year.

Loop the cord around the roll starting with the side opposite to the plug then insert the plug into the tube’s opening.

Instead of tossing your ornaments back into their boxes, wrap them safely to help prevent any from breaking while they sit in storage.

You can also fold and place the tree’s skirt to the bottom of the box to help cushion the ornaments if you do not wrap them up.

Check Carpet and Furniture for Stains

Someone may have accidentally spilt something on your carpet or furniture and did not say anything to you so be sure to check for stains so you can try to remove the stain before it fully sets in and becomes even harder to remove.

If the clean up is more than you can handle, don’t forget to give the professionals at Life Maid Easy a call at 604-682-6243, we guarantee that we can help make that home nice and clean in time for the New Year.
