Tips for Moving Out

At Life Maid Easy, we know how stressful the moving process can be.Moving in to a new home is exciting and nerve-wracking all at once. The moving out process, however, is just plain tedious and taxing.
That’s why we decided to make a list of the best moving tips we’ve heard throughout our years of dealing with customers who are moving in and out of their homes.
Check it out, maybe your life will be maid easy (hehe, we had to).
1- Pack an overnight bag

As much as you think you might, you probably won’t want to unpack that night. Pack a smaller bag with some toiletries and comfy clothes, so you can relax after you’ve unloaded all your belongings.
2- Get extra boxes

Even when you think you have enough boxes, get a few more. Generally, people need more than they anticipate. Next time you’re out, go to your local grocery store. They pretty much always have extras in the back.
3- Cut holes in to the sides of your boxes

Do this before you fill them with your stuff. You can use the holes as handles when you’re moving the boxes. You don’t want to throw out your back, mid-moving…
4- Use rolled up socks as padding

Keep those fragile items safe and sound
5- Make an ‘X’ shape with masking tape over your mirror and cotton pads in your make up

The ‘X’ shape on the mirror will help absorb shock, in case it gets moved around in the moving van. Cotton pads in your make up will help prevent the makeup from crumbling.
6- Store kitchen items inside pots

7- Throw heavier items in to a rolling suitcase, so you can easily move it around

8- Put your jewelry through a toilet paper roll

9- Before packing up your belongings in to a car, lay it all out in front of you

When you see it all out in front of you, you’ll be able to better assess how it should fit in to your moving vehicle. This may even save you a trip or two!
10- Hire a cleaning company to finish the job for you!
Most likely, your landlord expects the home to be cleaned when you leave it. This is something extra that you’ll have to deal with on top of the entire packing and moving process. Lucky for you, Life Maid Easy offers move in/move out cleaning services, so consider us the time you move!

If you wish to re-schedule or cancel any appointment, please notify us within a minimum of 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
Cancellation within 48 hours will be charged a $75 fee.
To secure your booking you’ll be asked for your credit card number. We will charge your credit card and email an invoice the day after the appointment. All payments are processed through secure SSL-encrypted system for maximum security.
The reason we have a minimum time for Move-in/Move-out cleaning is because this is a more detailed service than a maid service. Above the regular cleaning checklist there are extra tasks which we focus on. Please check it here: Move-in / Move-out. On top of that, we do want to mention that we offer time based services and if the cleaning service takes less, then we charge accordingly. We charge in 15 minutes increments.
We found out from our experience that this is the fastest and the most efficient way of cleaning your home.
