A coastal city in British Columbia that is made up completely of islands, Richmond is home to the well-known and stunning Steveston village, where Canada’s largest commercial fishing harbour can be found. It is also site of the Britannia Shipyards and the Gulf of Georgia Cannery – both national historic sites.

Part of Olympic History

The city has its own Olympic oval, which was initially built for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics’ speed skating events. Running tracks, hockey rinks, a rowing tank, and a 40-foot climbing wall have been added since then, as well as a multi-use space for indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, and other indoor sports. Known as the Richmond Olympic Oval, it is also where you can find the official Olympic museum in the country.
