Spring Cleaning With the Help of a Little Vinegar

Washing Windows

To tackle the window glass, a homemade cleanser, which you can make with two cups of water, half a cup of vinegar, and a quarter cup of rubbing alcohol is . Thoroughly spritz the glass and then wipe clean with a microfiber cloth.

Brighten up your Blinds

Time to open your window blinds, but make sure to clean them first! Just wear a pair of cotton gloves and dip it in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Run your fingers across both sides of the blind to remove dust.

Wash Your Shower Head

Bacteria can grow in shower heads, so better keep yours clean. Shower heads can be kept fresh and clean with some white vinegar. Start with filling a plastic bag partway with white vinegar. Then, place it over the shower head until the entire fixture is immersed in the vinegar and fasten around the neck of the shower head with a piece of string or twist ties. Let it soak for several hours — but if you have a different type of shower head (brass, gold, or nickel-coated) you should only keep in the vinegar for half an hour.

Descaling kettles

Limescale can accumulate in kettles. To descale it, mix equal amounts of vinegar and water, and leave it inside the kettle to soak for an hour. Rinse well.

Get rid of strong scents in your home

Vinegar might not have the best smell, but it can minimize all kinds of bad scents. Just create a solution with 1 part vinegar, 1 part water, and a few drops of lemon essential oil to get started.
