The village has scenic views of the bay, the clear waters of Howe Sound, and surrounding mountains. If you’re heading to Bowen Island or Vancouver Island via the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal, come early before the ferry departs so you’ll have time to look around and try nearby restaurants. While there is plenty of food available, you’ll find that fish and chips are common.
If you’re traveling by car, spend a day or two in Horseshoe Bay for a broad range of activities. Enjoy water adventures, such as whale watching and deep sea fishing, at Sewell’s Marina. You can also rent a boat to explore inlets and nearby islands at your own pace. Join guided kayak tours or canoe around the mouth of Howe Sound, with its calm waters especially great for paddling. Experience one of the oldest golf courses in Vancouver, Gleneagles Golf Course. When a day out in nature is more your thing, try hiking the Baden-Powell Trail or go biking through Cypress Provincial Park.
