If you’re looking for an easy way to make your house smell amazing this Christmas Season without blowing through those expensive scented candles every week, you have got to try making your own stovetop potpourri recipe.

Simply throw in a few fruits, herbs and spices into a pot of boiling water and get the amazing aromas kicking.

Instructions:

  • Fill a medium-sized pot or small crockpot 3/4 full of water, and add the ingredients of your choice (recipe below).
  • Bring to a boil for a few minutes, and then lower the heat to simmer.
  • Let it simmer for as long as you’d like. Be sure to watch the water level, and refill if needed.

Save the mixture in a glass jar or bowl in the refrigerator when finished. It can last you several days! Simply reheat the next day to re-scent your home.

Recipes:

  • 3 to 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 orange (sliced)
  • 1 to 2 sprigs of rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon of cloves
  • 1 cup of fresh cranberry
  • 2 teaspoons of nutmeg
