Recognized as the “City of Rivers and Mountains”, Port Coquitlam is a flourishing community in the midst of the Coquitlam and Pitt Rivers. Its downtown area has a sustained village atmosphere with the original city hall, which was built in 1913, being the anchor. While its plaza provides an array of restaurants, cafés, shops, and craft stores, the city also has outdoor spots to its name. There is the Colony Farm Regional Park, a lowland marsh that is home to wildlife and birds, and the 25-kilometre Traboulay PoCo trail that is well known among bike riders and hikers and surrounds the city entirely.
