We have all had an experience with stepping on a used piece of chewing gum that someone discarded on the sidewalk and we all know that at times it can be a real headache to remove.

Here are some great tricks to try if you just can’t get that pesky piece of chewing gum to come off of your shoes.

The first method is the most known which is to simply try and scrape the gum off by using the edge of a sidewalk or even a little branch that you find laying under a tree.

Even though that first method usually does the job, if your shoes have ridges on the soul or if it’s just a really sticky piece of gum you may need to try some more extreme methods to fully remove all of the chewing gum.

If the first method didn’t fully remove the gum, wait until you get home and head straight to your refrigerator and grab an ice cube from the freezer.

Rub the ice cube over the gum for anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes.

Once the piece of gum has dried out, use a dull knife to scrape it all off.

If this still does not do the job try pouring some rubbing alcohol on it and then scraping with a dull knife.
