How to stay motivated while doing spring cleaning
All achievements start with a plan.
You might say: planning??? This already sounds like a lot of work even before starting the cleaning, but bare with me and you’ll see it’s easier than it sounds like.
Give yourself a day for the spring cleaning, and make sure that the day is all about you and your house. It’s almost like you’ll be on a date with your favourite friend.
Once the day has arrived, make it fun! Play that workout music that pumps your blood, put on those shorts that you never dare to wear outside or knot your shirt above your waist. Hype yourself about it because spring cleaning doesn’t have to feel like a chore and not making it one is entirely up to you.
Now let’s get to the fun part!
Decide which part of the house will be the first one to be cleaned. Is it the washroom? Is it the kitchen? Or maybe the bedrooms! What’s your favourite? This is a great trick to keep your enthusiasm boosted and long lasting. Now, once you’ve decided which room is your first choice, start small. Organise the mess in that room, decide what goes in the closet, what goes in the drawers or in the laundry. After the area has been cleared you have a better image of what needs to be deep cleaned.
Our piece of advice is that you to stick with that room until you finish cleaning it and then go to the next one! The sense of achievement after completing a small part of the big task is rewarding and you can see the process moving forward.
Happy spring everybody!
