With the cold, snowy forecasts in for this week, you will be waking up in the mornings to find that your vehicle’s windshield is frozen (unless you have a garage to park yours in).

Now you can purchase an expensive de-icer spray or you could save some money by following our tips and make your own de-icer spray using only two items.

What you will need is the following items:

  • Spray Bottle
  • Isopropyl Alcohol
  • Water

Fill the spray bottle up to about 1/3 of the way with water and then fill the remainder of space with Isopropyl Alcohol.

Close the bottle and shake it up good to ensure the ingredients properly mix.

Now just head out to your vehicle and spray your windshield with the de-icer mix until the whole windshield is soaked then just wait a few seconds.

You will see the ice start to instantly melt right off your windshield.

Once it starts melting off, turn on your windshield wipers to help quickly remove the ice and de-icer solution and you are done.

* If your car locks are also frozen, spray some of your new homemade de-icer in the hole and give it a few seconds before inserting the key.

Life Maid Easy is a fast growing company that offers eco-friendly house cleaning services, maid services and carpet cleaning with franchises across Vancouver, Burnaby, Langley, North Shore, Whiterock and recently Toronto.
